Sinopsis
DONNE di TERRA are a group of new-generation farmers, active in various areas of southern Italy. They are farmers, breeders and educators, who have created a new lifestyle based on the self-production of organic food and the creation of a local and global network that revolves around the land. Each of them produces sustainability and memory in their own territory, together with organic garden products, oils, preserves, cheeses, communities and traditions. Five stories that tell of a change: each of them has come to the land and created a system of self-sustainability, changing their relationship with consumption and the environment.
Doris was born in the center of Vienna. She came to the land by instinct, moving to Sessa Aurunca in 1990, she experienced what it means to feed the family with what she produces. Self-production has a value of freedom for her.
Mariapia was born the daughter of farmers, she wanted to rediscover the bonds and chains that always pushed her to escape from her native land: the only thing that brought her back to this territory is working the land.
Nanà is a veterinarian, she lives in the woods of the upper Caserta area. Her path of self-production began with the vegetable garden, then expanded to wine, oil, the processing of food products and cosmetics. The flagship of her farm is the breeding of donkeys that she uses for therapeutic and rehabilitation sessions.
Marialuisa was born the daughter of farmers who wanted to free their children from the slavery of the land. Her passion for the land was so strong that she found herself at a crossroads: continue to do historical research or dedicate herself to cultivation, returning to the dynamics of her adolescence.
Maura moved to Li Paoli at a very young age, met the local farmers and learned the ancient techniques of cheese making. She graduates in veterinary medicine, buys thirty sheep and starts working as a shepherd: a life made of real sensations, that only the land can give you.
The stories of these women are the shareable and reproducible example of a choice, that each of us today is called to make. But going through a personal transformation is necessary to implement the change.
